For my installation class, we were giving the assignment to do 80 pieces in 2 weeks without any classtime to work on them. At all. I'm mildly freaking out about it, but I think I have a pretty solid idea.
I want to create a space, whether I have to put up two false walls, or use a small room downstairs. The piece will be made up like someone's room, but only one part of it. There'll be a desk and a chair, and the rest of the space will be empty. The walls will be covered in posters and notes, and the desk will be filled and covered with my pieces. The theme I'm working with it the story of a man who wants to become a superhero, and is taking steps to do so. Things like drawing a symbol, pros and cons of having a cape, cans of protein shakes, sweat rags from workouts, poster of batman and superman and the flash and the green lantern will cover the walls. There will be various bits of attempted costume all over the place. Evidence of a neglect of schoolwork will also be found. I might make some doll-figures to put on the desk.
And then I realized that I was making a self-portrait.
Awwww this is an adorable idea!!!
